I have always experienced colour when I hear a sound....and vice versa. For example, the letter 'M' is dark red, 'S' is always white, and 'R 'is always green. My mother told me that when I was little I would describe food in terms of colour. It seemed perfectly natural to me. As I grew up, I was very surprised to hear that other people do not experience this overlapping of the senses. I just can't imagine being any other way. lately, i've been reading more about it. if you're interested, here are a couple of links to follow:
